All gravestones at the Kowhai Pass cemetery, attached to St Peter’s Church in Springfield, have now been photographed and listed on Hunting Kiwis.
There are over 250 headstones but, remember, many of those represent several family members. I would hazard a guess that near on 1,000 people are buried in this small, rural cemetery.
In addition, St Peter’s Church and its lychgate also contain memorial plaques. These can be found here.
I hope you find this new, complete list of burials in Springfield, Canterbury (New Zealand) of help in your genealogical research.
As usual, full images of the gravestones and church/cemetery are available on request by emailing me at moorfnz@gmail.com.
Happy Hunting!
