St George’s, Kirwee – COMPLETE!

We’re still here and we’re still out there recording Canterbury’s cemeteries!

The cute wee cemetery in the grounds of St George’s church in Kirwee has been photographed and added to the Hunting Kiwis blog.

Dominant families in this cemetery are FRIZZELL, KELLY, AND ROPER.

We have a lot of work in progress including Darfield Catholic burials and Greendale cemetery, right near the epicentre of Canterbury’s 7.1 earthquake back in September 2010.

Check back often for updates.

Happy Hunting!

About HuntingKiwis

A recent B.A. (Hist) graduate of Massey University in New Zealand, I'm currently studying for my M.A. (Hist) at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. My focus is on social history, particularly the late-Victorian colonial social environment and those often-overlooked characters that lurked among settlers - the remittance men, swaggers, misfits, and wannabes.
