Remittance Men and Rockwood Graves

Hello again to all Hunting Kiwis subscribers.

We’re in the final throes of Summer here in New Zealand and I took the opportunity to visit a very small collection of graves on consecrated ground within the grounds of a private Canterbury home – Rockwood Station homestead.

The graves belong to the Philliips family – one of the first families to settle in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. You can check out the post, and pictures of the headstones here.

I’ve also recently updated the popular Remittance Men page with yet another family that has found a lost connection within my list. Have you got a New Zealand Remittance Man in your family’s past? If so, I’d love to know!

I hope you’ve been enjoying all the recent additions to the blog, and look forward to providing you with more pictures and research in the near future.

And don’t forget – you can keep up to date with what’s going on on the Hunting Kiwis Facebook Page.
Happy Hunting
